On cars fitted with a cat this can be replaced by a bypass/test pipe
This will decrease the weight, run the engine cooler and increase the power as well as the turbo spooling up sooner (the noise increases a little)
I decided to have one made in stainless steel by Hayward & Scott. The difference was remarkable and the whole thing including fitting cost £350
I decided to keep the original back box which with PCGB is only £99 from a
main dealer (not so long ago these were £300+)
BAD news the price has now gone backup again! (July 2001)
